A skill is a single, self-contained task; it performs one task from start to finish, such as searching for a flight, checking a fare's cancellation terms, or retrieving a booking. A playbook is like a recipe. It chains several skills into an end-to-end workflow that reaches a single goal, such as booking a business trip or closing out a trip after it ends. Apart from the skills and playbooks Payhawk provides out of the box, you can build your own custom playbooks tailored to how your organization works. ## Skills The following table lists the skills the Travel AI Agent supports, grouped by area. > [!TIP] > A few skills, such as finding a person or asking how Payhawk works, are shared across every agent and the Travel AI Agent can run them too. | Skill | What it does | | --- | --- | | **Flights** | | Search for flights | Conversational search by origin, destination and dates - one-way, round-trip (one leg at a time), and multi-city. | | Refine and filter flights | Sort results, filter by time of day and compare fares; the **IN POLICY** and **Preferred airline** badges flag compliant and recommended options. | | Fare conditions | A fare's cancellation policy and full terms and conditions, shown before you book. | | Baggage and extras | The baggage allowance on a booking, and what adding a checked bag costs. | | **Hotels** | | Search for hotels | Conversational search by destination and dates. | | Refine and filter hotels | Filter by star rating, brand and amenities such as pool, Wi-Fi, gym, parking or an on-site restaurant, and compare the top options. | | Negotiated hotel rates | Applies your company's negotiated rates automatically and shows the benefits they include, no rate codes needed. | | Hotel details | Check-in time, full address and phone number, and a property's cancellation policy. | | **Policy & compliance** | | Policy check | Whether a flight or hotel is within your company's travel policy, with anything out of policy flagged in the results. | | **Booking & payment** | | Book a flight or hotel | Books the selected option in Payhawk and pays with a Payhawk card, attaching the receipt and invoice to the expense automatically. | | Daily spend | Adds the trip's card allowance or per diem to the request automatically and shows it in the summary for review. | | **Trips & itineraries** | | Retrieve a booking | Booking details by reference, or your flight and hotel information for a trip. | | View your trips | Your upcoming, pending or past trips, with the day-by-day itinerary. | | Booking documentation | The information needed for check-in, a resent hotel confirmation, or the airline record locator (PNR). | | Update a trip | Conversational changes to an upcoming trip request before it is approved. | | Cancel a booking | Cancels a flight or hotel - shows the penalty first and can proceed when the booking is refundable. | | **Preferences** | | Set travel preferences | Remembers preferences such as early flights or a default home airport, and reads back what it holds on record. | | US traveller identifiers | Stores your Known Traveler Number (KTN) and Redress Number for flights to, from or within the US. | | **In every conversation** | | Hand-off to the right agent | Passes how-to questions and tasks another agent owns, such as uploading an invoice, to the Payments or Financial Controller AI Agent, which then replies to you directly. | ## Playbooks The following table lists the playbooks the Travel AI Agent supports, grouped by area. | Playbook | What it does | | --- | --- | | **Trip booking** | | Book a flight | Searches flights within your travel policy, compares the options and holds the one you pick as a travel request for approval. | | Book a hotel | Searches stays within your travel policy, compares rooms and rates and holds the one you pick as a travel request for approval. | | Book a group trip | One trip for up to 10 colleagues to the same place and dates; books each traveller separately, each with their own approval, card, allowance, itinerary and expense report. | | Book a trip for a teammate | Runs the full booking for another employee, with the trip and approvals following their profile. | | **Trips & itineraries** | | Manage a trip | Lists your trips, changes or cancels a booking, or helps with a trip already under way.
