Online check-in usually opens 24 hours before departure. When it opens for your flight, the check-in runs as follows: 1. The Travel AI Agent sends you an in-app chat message that check-in is open for your flight and offers to check you in. 2. You confirm that you want the AI Agent to check you in. 3. If Payhawk has no travel document on record for you, you enter your passport or national ID details in a secure form. If a document is already on record, the AI Agent will use it by default. 4. The AI Agent completes the check-in on the airline's website. 5. The AI Agent sends your boarding pass to the chat. You can also ask the AI Agent to check you in at any time within the 24-hour check-in window, without waiting for its message. For the full steps, see [checking in for your flights with the Travel AI Agent](/help/checking-in-for-flights-with-the-travel-ai-agent). ## When the AI Agent needs your help In most cases, the Travel AI Agent completes the check-in from start to finish without any input from you. If the airline's website asks you to log in, or shows a CAPTCHA, the AI Agent pauses and asks you to complete that step. After you complete it, the AI Agent continues the check-in. ## Supported airlines Automatic check-in is not yet available for some airlines. For flights with these airlines, the AI Agent still sends you a message when check-in opens, with a link to the airline's website so you can check in yourself. ## Protecting your travel document details You enter your passport or national ID details in a secure form in the chat. The form sends the details directly to Payhawk and never as a chat message, so they do not appear in your conversation with the AI Agent. Payhawk keeps the document on record and uses it by default for your next check-ins. For more information about how Payhawk applies AI and protects your data, see [how Payhawk uses AI](/help/how-payhawk-uses-ai). ## Enabling automatic flight check-in Automatic flight check-in is available only if the Travel AI Agent is included in your company's plan. It is not available while you use the Travel AI Agent in [Preview mode](/help/previewing-the-travel-ai-agent-capabilities). Payhawk Administrators enable automatic flight check-in for each entity separately. To enable automatic flight check-in: 1. In the [Payhawk Web Portal](https://portal.payhawk.com), go to **Settings** > **Payhawk Labs**. 2. Find **Automatic flight check-in** and switch on the toggle. 3. Click on **I agree, enable**. You can disable automatic flight check-in at any time from the same page. For more information, see [managing Beta features in Payhawk Labs](/help/enabling-and-managing-beta-features). ## Useful resources - [Checking in for flights with the Travel AI Agent](/help/checking-in-for-flights-with-the-travel-ai-agent) - [Overview of the Travel AI Agent](/help/overview-of-the-travel-ai-agent) - [Payhawk Labs for Beta testing, early access, and research](/help/payhawk-labs-for-beta-testing-early-access-and-research)
