I cannot reset the password for my Payhawk account

Prev Next

If you cannot reset the password for your Payhawk account, the cause is usually one of two things, either your account is managed by Single Sign-On (SSO), or you no longer have access to the email inbox where the reset link is sent.

Your account uses Single Sign-On (SSO)

When trying to log into your Payhawk account to reset your password, you may receive the following error message:

Password reset functionality is not allowed. Please use your Single Sign-On provider to login.

The cause of receiving the error message is that your account is configured to use the Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication method.

To reset the password for your Payhawk account, use one of the following options based on your SSO setup:

  • If your account uses Google as the SSO provider, enter your email and click Continue with Google on the login page.

  • If your account uses a different SSO provider, contact the IT system administrator at your company for assistance.

Since your login credentials are managed by your company, you cannot reset your password through the Payhawk website.

When trying to log into your Payhawk account to reset your password, the password reset link and verification code are sent to the email address registered on your Payhawk account. If you cannot open that inbox, you cannot complete the reset.

To log back into your Payhawk account, you must have the email address on your account changed to one that you can access. A Payhawk Administrator at your company can request the change by email. For the steps, see how to update the email associated with your Payhawk account.
