About the Role

Payhawk Financial Services UAB (PFS UAB) is a licensed Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in Lithuania. As the Director of Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance function within PFS UAB, overseeing current processes, and driving the implementation of new ones. The successful candidate will work as an integrated part of our global Compliance team, leveraging the broader organization and its resources to maintain an effective compliance and risk program and ensure that we meet all regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the company’s full compliance with Lithuanian and EU regulatory frameworks, including ongoing monitoring of legal developments and regulatory obligations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures tailored to local regulatory requirements
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks through periodic internal reviews and structured risk assessments
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and lead readiness efforts for external inspections
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for local regulators, handling inquiries, inspections, and maintaining up-to-date licensing and authorization documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, operations, risk, audit) to embed compliance practices into business operations
  • Deliver regular training sessions and awareness initiatives to ensure employees understand their regulatory responsibilities
  • Promote a strong compliance culture across the organization through ongoing education and communication
  • Provide updates and reports to senior management and the Group CCO on key compliance issues, risks, and regulatory developments

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in compliance or regulatory roles within financial services or regulated industries
  • In-depth knowledge of Lithuanian and EU financial regulations, especially those applicable to electronic money institutions (EMIs)
  • Strong track record of working with local regulatory authorities and managing licensing requirements
  • Proven ability to develop and enforce compliance frameworks, policies, and internal controls
  • Fluent in both Lithuanian and English (written and spoken)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience conducting compliance audits, managing regulatory inspections, and providing compliance-related training

If you have familiarity with DORA, AMLD, PSD2, and other relevant EU directives would be a distinct advantage , in addition to a legal background or any formal compliance certifications (e.g., ICA, CAMS, etc.)
