The Payhawk customer base includes fast-growing and mature multinational companies in 32 countries including LuxAir, Quantive, and Wagestream. With offices in New York, London, Berlin, Munich , Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Vilnius and Sofia; Payhawk is backed by renowned investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Greenoaks, QED Investors, Bek Ventures and Eleven Ventures.

Our values include supporting flat hierarchies, taking ownership and responsibility, seeking and providing feedback, managing constructive critique, and speaking our minds. We understand that the best ideas don’t all come from the same place, so we encourage diversity and inclusion in all areas of our work.

The future of fintech is about more than money, and we believe in work-life balance, continual learning, and empowered teams. We’re also on a journey to measure and improve our environmental and social impact. From virtual cards to digital subscriptions, our software and automation help take paper out of the equation for our customers, too.

We’re changing the world of payments, and we’re looking for an exceptional team to help us.

About the role

As a Key Account Manager (KAM) at Payhawk, you will take ownership of some of our largest and most strategic customers. Your mission is to drive measurable business value by ensuring deep adoption of our platform across teams, spend categories, and geographies. You will serve as a trusted advisor to finance and operations leaders, helping them unlock the full potential of Payhawk to automate spend, control costs, and scale operations with confidence.

This is not a reactive role. You will proactively design and lead strategic initiatives that increase Total Payment Volume (TPV), protect and grow SaaS revenue, and position Payhawk as a mission-critical finance platform for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate and translate the customer’s committed TPV into a phased rollout plan aligned to business priorities and go-live timelines.
  • Define clear success metrics and KPIs for adoption, card issuance, and spend ramp-up.
  • Drive usage across new teams, legal entities, and spend categories through tailored enablement, training, and process redesign.
  • Run structured spend and usage reviews to identify gaps, reallocate budgets, and propose new card-based workflows.
  • Establish and maintain executive alignment through quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and data-driven impact reporting.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to resolve blockers, shape future roadmap discussions, and reinforce Payhawk’s strategic role
  • Identify expansion opportunities and partner with Sales to convert usage into commercial growth.
  • Act as a first line of defense against churn and downsell by addressing risk signals early and reinforcing platform value.
  • Capture key data points and document account progress to support forecasting and internal alignment.

Requirements in a candidate:

  • Strong communication skills in German (C1/2, C2) and English on a professional level (company language)
  • 6+ years in Customer Success, Account Management, or Consulting with B2B SaaS or FinTech products
  • Demonstrated success managing strategic or complex accounts with multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to link product usage to business value
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable working with customer usage data and performance benchmarks
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and project management skills

Company Benefits

  • Flexible working hours
  • 30 days holiday paid leave
  • Payhawk company card
  • Monthly travel allowance
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Regular team-wide events
  • Exchange program to another one of our offices (Amsterdam, Paris, London, Barcelona, Sofia)

Please note that unfortunately we cannot provide visa sponsorship, and to be considered for this role, candidates must be able to provide proof of their eligibility to work in Germany.
