Anticipating Europe’s eInvoicing transformation
The European business landscape is undergoing one of its most significant financial transformations since the introduction of VAT. Following Italy’s 2019 B2B eInvoicing reform, Germany introduced an obligation to receive eInvoices for B2B transactions from January 1st 2025. Belgium will mandate Peppol-based eInvoices from January 2026, with France’s national rollout set for 2026–27 and Spain expected to follow.
These reforms aim to increase transparency, combat fraud, and accelerate digital transformation. Yet, for multinational companies, fragmented national frameworks and differing formats — from Factur-X to UBL — create complexity and risk.
Through its partnership with Invopop, Payhawk delivers a single, connected compliance network. The integration combines Invopop’s certified Peppol connectivity and regulatory intelligence with Payhawk’s powerful AP automation, ensuring that structured eInvoices flow directly into Payhawk, where they are automatically validated against local standards before approval, payment, and real-time ERP reconciliation.
Automation and compliance in one unified workflow
Finance teams can now handle the entire eInvoicing process within Payhawk — from invoice reception to payment and ERP sync — across systems like NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Exact Online.
This seamless automation eliminates manual processing, strengthens data integrity, and ensures ongoing compliance with each country’s eInvoicing requirements — all from one platform.
As mandates evolve, Payhawk’s integration with Invopop ensures future-ready scalability, allowing customers to stay continuously aligned with Europe’s regulatory landscape without requiring additional systems or integrations.
Advancing finance digital transformation across Europe
This partnership reinforces Payhawk’s vision to make finance orchestration the new standard for modern businesses, connecting every financial touchpoint into one intelligent command centre.
By combining compliance automation with intuitive workflows and deep ERP integrations, Payhawk empowers finance teams to turn regulatory change into operational advantage, managing complexity, driving efficiency, and enabling smarter finance across Europe.
Valentin Gerbi, Country Manager France at Payhawk, says:
French finance teams need partners who make change simple. Our partnership with Invopop brings eInvoicing compliance, automation, and intelligence together, so teams can focus on growth, not complexity.
Juan Moliner, Co-Founder & CEO of Invopop, agrees, explaining:
As more EU countries adopt mandatory eInvoicing, interoperability and compliance must scale together. Partnering with Payhawk allows us to deliver both through a unified framework, ensuring companies can operate confidently as the European eInvoicing landscape evolves.
